Safety First by Maddy and Natalie

Today we learnd about safety with Constable Cain. Dont let a stranger take you anywhere. When you are lost find a safe person. Be aware that some strangers are good and bad. When you are badly hurt and in emergencies call 911.  Dont  talk to strangers on the computer.  Look and listen when you cross the street.

Solids Liquids and Gases. by Sunny and Sasha.

Yesterday we did an experiment for solids liquids and gases. We got some snow from a hokey rink .
When we got the snow it was nice and cold. Then it was watery with a little bit of snow. We are waiting until it turns into a gas.

Welcome Back to Room 4! By Izzy and Ashley

Hi. Welcome back to school! Today in room 4 we are studying solids liquids and gases. We are having a grate start today. A couple of days ago we were writing about our friends. Most of us are done and they sound awesome. We have a marbel system. Every time we get a marbel we get longer playtime and we start today. In daily five we have so meny kids who want to publish their writing.

We're Off To A Great Start!

The students of room 4 have quickly gotten back into the swing of things and we are finding ourselves very busy! We have just completed a Social Studies theme on Connecting With Canadians, and today we started a Science unit on Properties of Matter. This unit is always a hit with the students, as there are many hands on activities along with a culminating event called the "Super Fun Day of Snazzy Science"!

We have focused on sorting, data collection and graphing during math workshop. We have also heavily emphasized practice with basic fact recall and mental math, as this is one of our school goals this year. We are working on increasing proficiency and automaticity of recalling facts.  Further information will be sent home to families later this month.

In room 4, we have worked very hard to create a culture in our classroom that we can be proud of. We pride ourselves on being courteous, respectful, supportive and welcoming. We have read many fantastic books about building character, and we often talk about the kind of people we want to be, and how we want others to see us. I am so proud of the the students of room 4 for making everyone feel like they belong and for truly showing that we care about others.

Keep up the great work room 4!!
