Just the Facts!
Room 4 has been working on mastering our addition math facts. We currently have 40 cards in our bags for practice with numbers +1, +2, +3 and +4. Our target is to answer the addition questions in under two minutes (approximately 3 seconds per question). The students time themselves on the iPads so that they can set a goal of improving their time. Our students have been doing very well with this task. We will work up to numbers +9, and then switch to subtraction questions after spring break.

Back to Blogging!
Wow! Time has flown by and we find ourselves in mid-January! Room 4 has been very hard at work in our study of the Arctic. We are busy with Science, writing and theme studies activities all inter-connected about this fun and interesting topic. We are in the process of creating something wonderful to share with our families on conference day in March. It's a busy time in Room 4!
Here are pictures of students doing the "blubber activity"! We were testing to see how blubber protects animals in the Arctic from the cold, icy water.
