Our Final Community Walk

We had a lovely afternoon on Thursday for our final community walk to the St. James Library. The library staff did a short presentation, and then there was a flurry of activity as the students selected their books. Thank you to Jesse's mom and Racheal's mom who joined us as supervisors on our community outings.

  

  

  

Our Second Community Walk

Yesterday Rooms 4, 6 and 10 went on our second community walk to Assiniboine Park. We watched geese land and take off from the river and the duck pond at the park. Along the way we found many beautiful leaves, some mushrooms and a friendly duck! We also discovered that the park has a bicycle repair station, which we thought was pretty cool! We spent a little bit of time at the nature playground, then we had to turn around and head back for early dismissal.

A Great Start to the School Year!

We have had a successful, busy start to the school year! The students of room 4 have formed a very nice, cohesive classroom community. Here are some photos from our first community walk. 

Outdoor Challenge - Day 4

The rain held off today, which made for another busy, enjoyable day outside.

We started the day with a whole school presentation on bike safety. Then some of our room 4 students took the road challenge test!

We spent part of the morning critter dipping at Truro Creek.

Lucky scoop - a minnow, a leech, a damselfly nymph and a water boatman!

Outdoor Challenge - Day 3

Day 3 brought the rain, but we still had fun playing! We also had some guest presentations today.

The Fire Safety House was at our school. We practiced fire safety rules to use at home.

We were enthralled by storyteller Jamie Oliviero! 

And of course we played in the puddles!
